So…. my hollow book that was planted in the library (Crowfoot branch) has already gone missing. And the person who went to search for it (Spirit Bear) said that the stamps weren’t exactly where my clues said they would be either. So… in two weeks books have already been shuffled around in the library. I’m actually surprised. I thought they would last for at least 6 months. So…. at the Crowfoot branch I will recarve the last stamp (the others are still there) and possibly hide the box outside the branch. So Spirit Bear will be able to go back and put her stamp into the log book. Too bad…. that hollow book was really cool!!

What a shame it’s gone missing. I know how long it takes to make those things.
Consider asking permission. For my Be the Dove of My Heart, I first asked at the information desk. She had me make an appt with the chief librarian on another day. During that meeting (she was so enthusiastic!) she called down the person in charge of programming, and she was the final one who helped me hide the thing. From what I can tell, she even entered my box title as a search item into the catalogue, so if someone is working who doesn’t know about the box, they can look it up for further instructions.
I was surprised by the level of excitement and support, and I know all that work is 100% safe.
Yeah, that worked great in Owen Sound too. I’m confident that my book is safe there!
But here in Calgary, the library system is so big that I couldn’t even get in to talk to anyone. It’s all run out of the Central Library (an 8 story building in downtown Calgary). And the person there in charge of program wouldn’t even respond to my request for a meeting. And those at each branch will only say it’s not their decision to make and they keep giving me the name of the person in charge at Central!!! Too bad.
